Visit Walt Disney World This Summer: Why and How!

There's so much to do and see this summer at Walt Disney World! And, there are still special discounts on rooms and packages (room, ticket, dining) to make it more affordable too!!

Hollywood Studios

You will find "The Music of Pixar LIVE." Making it's debut on May 26, 2017, this brand-new, limited time concert with a live orchestra will showcase music from some of your favorite Pixar films. The show will be presented three times each evening in the Theater of the Stars (where you can see Beauty and the Beast during the day).

Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Fireworks show continues to dazzle with fireworks, projections, lasers and pyrotechnics.

Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom welcomes a brand new projection and fireworks show. "Happily Ever After" debuts on May 12, 2017. Featuring stories from many favorite Disney and Pixar movies, this new fireworks show encourages guests to dream their biggest dream and never give up.

Animal Kingdom

Guests have been eagerly awaiting the opening of a brand new land: Pandora - The World of Avatar! With two new rides, floating mountains and bioluminescent plants, this new land beckons visitors to come and explore a different planet.

The new Rivers of Light show continues to delight guests. (Be sure to get a Fast Pass or book a dining package to reserve your seat!)

EPCOT

Flower & Garden Festival will wrap up on May 29. You can still book a trip to see it! EPCOT looks beautiful decked out in flowers and topiaries of favorite characters.

Coming Soon!!

Back for it's 22nd year, EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival begins August 31 and will feature a record 35 food booths to try!! With celebrity chefs, hands-on workshops and demonstrations. Plus, Eat to the Beat concerts will be announced soon. See some favorite performers right in EPCOT. Book a dining package to reserve your seat.

Blizzard Beach Water Park

Beginning May 27, guests can participate in fun and games with Kristoff and Olaf from the hit animated film "Frozen"!! Cool down and play a variety of winter themed games like an Ice Pail Relay and a "Snowball" toss. Sound like a fun time for everyone!!

Okay, now that you're convinced you need to visit this summer, the question is, how to manage the heat.

Here are my pro tips:

1. Arrive early and tour until lunchtime. Crowds are lower first thing in the morning and it's cooler too. Use the afternoon to cool down in your room and take a nap or hang out at your resort pool. Then you can go back to the parks once the sun starts to go down a bit.

2. Drink lots and lots of water! Do not underestimate how much you will be sweating. Bring refillable water bottles to keep costs down. In fact, you can go to any Quick Service restaurant and get a free cup of ice water. Consider getting a sports drink in addition to water.

3. Take advantage of air conditioning. Many attractions are indoors and air conditioned. Plan wisely so you can visit these when it's hot. I recommend Mickey's Philharmagic in the Magic Kingdom, The Great Movie Ride or Star Tours in Hollywood Studios; American Adventure in EPCOT and the shows Festival of the Lion King or Finding Nemo in Animal Kingdom.

4. Get plenty of sleep. Being hot AND tired is a bad combination for an enjoyable vacation. Consider taking a break day in the middle of your trip to use the pool, tour other resorts or go to one of Disney's two fabulous water parks: Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon!
