Celebrate with a Special Cake

If you’re looking for a way to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or other special occasion all Disney owned and operated locations at Walt Disney World can create a custom cake for your event.

I have had two custom cakes made for my husband’s birthday, one at the Beach Club Resort and one at Jiko fine dining restaurant at Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort. Both were spectacular and worth every penny!

The first step to ordering a custom cake is to call the Walt Disney World Cake Hotline (407-827-2253). You will likely get the messaging system, rather than a live person so be sure to leave a detailed message about what you are looking for, when you want it, where you want it delivered to and of course a phone number to reach you. It may take a few days for someone to get back to you so be patient. If no one returns your call within three to four days, call again and leave a message.

Once you get a call back, you will be put into contact with the bakery that will service your desired location. My cake that was delivered to the Beach Club was made at the Boardwalk Bakery and delivered to our room. The cake we got at Jiko was made by a pastry chef in Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Private Dining kitchen.

One thing to note is that options and flavors will vary by location. For a fancier cake with more options, you’ll want to have your cake delivered to one of the following resorts:

  • Animal Kingdom Lodge & Villas

  • BoardWalk Inn & Villas

  • Caribbean Beach

  • Contemporary Resort & Bay Lake Tower

  • Epcot (excluding restaurants in Mexico, China, Italy, Japan, Morocco, and France)

  • Fort Wilderness

  • Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

  • Magic Kingdom

  • Old Key West

  • Pop Century

  • Polynesian Resort

  • Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa

  • Wilderness Lodge

  • Yacht & Beach Club & Villas

As always, options are subject to change so be sure to check with your baker once you make contact. The cost for a basic cake starts at $50 for an 8-inch cake (serves 8) and goes up depending on the complexity of what you want (design and flavor option).

If you want a special treat added to your cake, you can order a white chocolate figurine to be added to the top of the cake. You can also have the figurine hand painted. I had a hand painted Donald added to the cake we had delivered to the Beach Club and it was too adorable to eat!

The list of available figurines includes:

  • Mickey

  • Minnie

  • Donald

  • Goofy

  • Pluto

  • Chip

  • Dale

  • Ariel

  • Belle

  • Cinderella

  • Snow White

  • Tinker Bell

  • Peter Pan

  • Remy

  • Stitch

  • Captain Jack Sparrow

  • Jedi Mickey

  • Anniversary Mickey & Minnie

  • Dark chocolate 3-inch Mickey or Minnie

  • Lightning McQueen

  • Tow Mater

The cost of the white chocolate figurines ranges between $15 - $65 depending on size and resort. Hand painting of figurines is an additional charge.

Please also note that not all characters are available at all resorts. The resort with the most variety is the Grand Floridian.

It is recommended that you make contact with a baker three to four weeks before your desired delivery date to ensure all of your wishes are noted. I also recommend confirming a day or two before delivery.

In addition to the custom cakes above, you can also order some standard cakes. Here are some photos from other Vacation Specialists:

Either way - custom cake or standard cake, I say what a sweet way to celebrate!
