5 Things to Love about Disney’s BoardWalk Resort

Get ready to celebrate! Next year, 2021, will mark the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort!! Package bookings for 2021 should open up this summer. From now until then, we will be revisiting our 5 Reasons to Love series about WDW resorts to help you decide where to stay next year.

Disney World’s BoardWalk Resort is my absolute favorite resort at Walt Disney World. Whenever I have the opportunity to stay here, I am immediately transported to another time and place, and isn’t that what Disney is all about?!

Here are some of the top reasons to love this unique resort.

Location, Location, Location – The BoardWalk Resort is located at the center of the EPCOT resort area, and could not be more convenient! You can take a short walk or a scenic boat ride to both EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. This makes it an ideal spot to stay during any of the EPCOT festivals. There is also convenient bus service to the Magic Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom.

Theme – The BoardWalk is themed to 1940’s Atlantic City, and truly captures what I can only imagine it must have felt like. No detail is overlooked down to the actual Boardwalk featuring entertainment, shops and restaurants.

Entertainment –Speaking of the entertainment, the BoardWalk is known as the “Showcase of the Shore” and it truly delivers! On any given night you can wander the Boardwalk and find magicians, artists and other interesting and fun to watch performers. The BoardWalk is also home to Jellyrolls, a crazy fun dueling pianos bar, Atlantic Dance Hall, where you can dance the night away, and the ESPN Club so you never miss the big game!

Restaurants – In the mix of everything else located on the Boardwalk are some truly phenomenal restaurants. Trattoria al Forno serves up classic Italian cuisine, and is also the location of the Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast with characters from Tangled and the Little Mermaid. You can stop by Big River Grille and Brewing Works for some delicious food with a house made beer. Or if you’re feeling fancy, Flying Fish Café is one of my favorite spots for a night out serving up inventive and amazing seafood!

The Pool – The BoardWalk pool continues the impeccable theming with a huge water slide that looks exactly like an old-fashioned wooden roller coaster, fun Elephants squirting water into the pool, and a pool bar set inside a carousel. In my opinion this is one of the best and most fun pools in Disney World.

I would recommend that everyone take a detour out of EPCOT just between England and France and check out my favorite Disney resort! And if you have the chance to stay here on an upcoming Disney vacation you won’t regret choosing the BoardWalk resort!
