Earlier this month, 4 advisors from Coasters & Castles Travel had the incredible opportunity to preview the newest Disney cruise ship, the Disney Treasure. It was nothing short of magical! From dazzling décor to exciting new experiences, this ship truly lives up to its name! I have so much I want to share so I'll break it up into a few segments. First off, let's do a little run down of this brand-new, stunning ship and list out a few of my favorite details.
Stepping aboard the Disney Treasure during its exclusive preview sailing this December felt like walking into a dream. As Disney’s newest cruise ship, the Treasure combines timeless storytelling with modern luxury, creating an unforgettable experience for guests of all ages. From the moment I set foot on the shimmering grand atrium—a space inspired by Disney’s Aladdin—I knew this ship was something special.
During the preview, we had the chance to explore as many details as we could. We experienced each included restaurant, a few of the lounges, the spa, some of the nightly entertainment and of course the Aqua Mouse! Join me as I take you through the highlights of this remarkable vessel, sharing first-hand impressions to help you plan your own Disney adventure.
Where does the Treasure sail from?
Currently, the Treasure is sailing out of Port Canaveral, Florida, for all its planned itineraries through May 2026.
Where does the ship sail to?
The ship features 7 night sailings to the Eastern or Western Caribbean.
Eastern sailings stop in: Tortola, British Virgin Islands; St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands; and Disney Castaway Cay.
Western sailings visit: Cozumel, Mexico; George Town, Grand Cayman; Falmouth, Jamaica; and Disney Castaway Cay.
Of course, sailings in September and October are themed for Halloween on the High Seas and November and December are Very Merrytime for the holidays making those sailings truly unique!
What are the standout features of the Disney Treasure? The theming of every space on the ship and the decor! I sailed on its sister ship, the Disney Wish back in May so the layout is the same but The Treasure is a step above! The Grand Hall is gorgeous. The mosaic tilework and chandelier are show-stopping.
As you walk around the ship you have to take in every detail and determine what it was inspired by. Since the Grand Hall is themed to Aladdin or Agrabah, each hallway as it leads to the elevators has elaborately themed carpet also from the film. Be sure to admire the artwork in the stairwells along with the decor in each stateroom. All are themed to Disney and Pixar classics.
What makes the Disney Treasure different from other Disney Cruise Line ships? The themed lounges, dining, and entertainment are top-notch. A Disney fans dream! The Tale of Moana is truly worth a spot on Broadway. The staging alone was so creative. I don’t want to spoil it but there were many times when I couldn’t believe what I just saw! And no one is talking about Beauty and the Beast but it was another beautiful version of a film transferred to stage with moments where you'll wonder how did they do that?!
The Haunted Mansion Parlor is like stepping off a Doom Buggy into the attraction! There are so many Easter Eggs plus it’s a fun creepy environment. There is a ‘show’ that lasts 45 minutes as you watch the room transform to different audio tracks from the attraction plus a few new surprises. This parlor will also be onboard Disney’s next ship, The Destiny embarking at the end of next year.
Plaza de Coco, one of three evening dinner options is a magnificent dinner theatre experience. The performances were fantastic and since this ship sails 7 nights there are two different shows you’ll get to see. The same with the Marvel dining experience. Coco can not be seen on any other Disney ship!
Who is the Disney Treasure best suited for? The Treasure features the same deck plans as The Wish but the decor and theming speak to both boys and girls as opposed to the Wish which is almost entirely princess-themed.
A Disney Cruise is perfect for all ages and especially multi-generational trips. NEVER think that your kids are too old for a Disney Cruise! There are plenty of spaces and activities for teens and tweens. And don’t be afraid to go without the kids! There are so many spaces for the kids to go it’s not as overwhelming as it is in the theme parks. Plus there are some amazing adult-only areas as well!
If you are a parks fan I BEG you to try a cruise! There is so much more value in a cruise; with dining included you know exactly what you are getting and only have to budget for a few additional amenities if you choose to.
Not a big Disney fan? You won’t find a family-friendly cruise line like Disney! The split bathroom is the number one difference between all other cruise lines. If you have multiple adults or teens/ tweens in one room it makes getting ready so much easier! The service level and quality are also unmatched. I know there is not an alcohol package but soda and juices are included in your fare plus almost all activities on board. Whereas most other cruise lines will nickel and dime you for so much!
Whether you’re a family looking for the perfect getaway, a Disney enthusiast eager to experience the latest innovations, or an avid cruiser looking for luxury and exquisite service and entertainment, this ship has something magical to offer.
