EPCOT Eats: Rose & Crown Pub

Updated: Feb 17, 2020

I am lucky enough to visit Walt Disney World on the regular. It's part of my job as a Vacation Planner, right? Of course, it's such a fun getaway, it's not a hardship at all!

My family loves hanging out at EPCOT. The various festivals are so much fun (the Arts, Flower & Garden, Food & Wine and the Holidays). But, even on a non-festival day, we enjoy World Showcase's stores and dining variety. It can be a challenge deciding where to eat. On a recent visit, we made dinner reservations at the Rose & Crown Pub in the UK Pavilion for a Candlelight Processional package.

We were seated at a table on the patio, behind the building. Luckily, we were in a covered spot because it was raining. Soon, the rain stopped and we were rewarded with a double rainbow!

I ordered a Guiness, which was delicious!

Our Candlelight Processional package included an appetizer, entree and dessert. The Rose & Crown menu features classic British cuisine,, including Fish & Chips, Bangers & Mash, Shepherd's Pie and Chicken Masala Curry. (We also got reserved seating for the show as part of the package.)

I ordered the Scotch Egg, a hard-boiled egg surrounded by delicious sausage and served with mustard and frisèe. Absolutely delicious!! I could really go for one RIGHT NOW!!

Our table also enjoyed the cheese platter and the Coronation Salad. The salad was a little odd - okay but not great. The cheese platter had some good selections on it, but, again, not great. I think the Scotch Egg is clearly the best choice.

For entrees, I opted for a special dish of short ribs with carrots and mashed potatoes - perfect for a holiday dinner. My daughters got Fish and Chips and the Welsh Pub Burger. All of the entrees were huge! And, they were all quite good.

Next up, we ordered desserts. Since our entrees were quite filling, we were all looking for a lighter dessert and opted for the Rice Pudding (Coconut and Orange Rice Pudding with a Berry Compote) and the English Trifle (Layers of Strawberries, Vanilla Custard, Graham Crackers and Whipped Cream). Both were light and delicious.

I would definitely dine here again, especially when the weather is a bit chilly. It was a perfect spot with a great view, good food and service.
