Teppan Edo is my favorite place to take kids for a meal at the World Showcase in Epcot. I’ve dined there several times and always recommend it to my clients with young kids looking for a place to get great food but also keep the kids occupied. It is located on the second floor of the Japan pavilion.
You are seated family style around a grill and watch skilled chefs cook your meal right in front of you in what’s call Teppan-yaki-style or more commonly called Hibachi. Each table seats 8 so there is chance you may sit with others if your party is smaller than that.

Every time you visit will be a unique experience because each chef puts on their own show. I don’t want to give away any surprises, but I’ve seen several different tricks. It really is amazing what these chefs can do, they are cooking and entertaining us! My kids were in awe and even loved trying some new foods. The staff was wonderful. They personally made chopsticks for both boys so they could learn and practice the authentic way to eat Japanese cooking.
For the main entrée you can choose between steak, chicken, seafood and vegetables and everything is served with Udon noodles, steamed rice and a salad. You also receive 2 sauces to pair with your entrée choice. The ‘yum-yum’ sauce is simply that, yummy and similar to ranch dressing. They also serve sushi, tempura and edamame on the appetizer menu. I always order the Green Tea Mousse Cake for dessert.
