Choosing the Right Destination
There are a lot of options in the Caribbean and Mexican Riviera and choosing the right destination with children involves considering several factors to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience for the whole family.
Here are three things to consider when trying to choose an all inclusive resort for your next family vacation:
Accommodations - the size of your family is a huge consideration. If you need multiple rooms, you likely want them to be adjoining. What about a suite? Are you traveling with friends or extended family? Does everyone want their own room or are you willing to share? Do you want to be located near attractions or dining on property?
Partnering with a travel advisor is a huge benefit because we can help you choose the right room and put in requests to help ensure you get the best location possible for your vacation.
Activities - you are likely going to want a wide range of age-appropriate activities. For all ages of children, parents and even grandparents. Kid-friendly beaches, water parks, splash pads, nature reserves, sports and kids clubs plus family-oriented tours and excursions.
Be sure to take a close look at the inclusions with your advisor and make sure you understand what is included and what is not. Some resorts are truly all inclusive so everything is included in your price to stay and others charge a fee to access additional activities so you'll need to factor that into the budget for your trip.
Cuisine - You'll need food and beverage options that will please everyone. Maybe your family doesn't like buffets so make sure you are at a resort where there are plenty of quick or table service options. Maybe you have big eaters and they LOVE buffets! That's why travel advisors will ask a lot of questions and get to know their clients likes and dislikes so they can help you make the best decision.
Beaches Resorts are my preferred all inclusive resorts for families. Turks is a beautiful island and very popular due to it's crystal clear water but I also love Jamaica. It really has everything; culture, great food, beautiful beaches, that turquoise ocean and amazing people. Plus you can get a direct flight from many major cities in the US so it's an easy destination to get to.
⛱ Turks & Caicos is the number one choice for kids of all ages. There is something for teens and toddlers. And you can't beat that beautiful turquoise water
👙 Negril is great for families with younger or toddler aged children. With a smaller footprint and water park it's easy to get around with the little ones plus it has an AMAZING beach.
🏝 Ocho Rios is great for in between. It's not as big at Turks but more suited for pre teens than Negril with a larger water park. Each resort offers a huge selection of water and land sports plus an X Box Play Lounge, kids clubs, all your care to enjoy dining plus more.
Coming soon....Beaches Exuma. Sandals Emerald Bay in the Bahamas was recently closed to transform into a fourth Beaches resort!
Dreaming of the Mexican Riviera? Dreams Resorts are a collection of luxury all-inclusive resorts located all over the world but their biggest footprint is along the Yucatan Peninsula and Pacific Coast of Mexico. With resorts in Cancun, Cozumel, Puerto Aventuras, Riviera Maya, Tulum, Acapulco, Huatulco, Los Cabos, Nuevo Vallarta, Puerto Vallarta or Riviera Nayarit it's the perfect balance of relaxation and excitement for every member of the family.
In the Cancun area, Dreams Resorts offers several distinct options:
Dreams Sands Cancun Resort & Spa: Located in the heart of the Cancun Hotel Zone, this resort is known for its prime beachfront location with calm, shallow waters, ideal for families with young children. It offers a more intimate setting compared to larger resorts, with a strong focus on personalized service.
Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort: A newer addition to the Dreams portfolio, this resort boasts modern design and is perfect for active families. It offers stunning ocean views from every room, a rooftop pool, and an 18-hole golf course, setting it apart from others with its emphasis on sports and adventure.
Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort: Situated in the gated community of Playa Mujeres, this resort offers a more secluded, luxurious experience. It’s great for families who want access to both relaxation and excitement, with a water park, lazy river, and close proximity to a Greg Norman-designed golf course.
Each of these resorts offers the signature Unlimited-Luxury® experience, with no wristbands required, and no reservations needed for dining, which sets them apart from many other all-inclusive options in the region.
