Lisa Wainwright, one of the wonderful travel advisors with Coasters & Castles Travel took her family on a Royal Caribbean cruise last month for spring break. They sailed on the Allure of the Seas out of Galveston, Texas and booked an excursion for their time in Honduras. They had a fabulous time and here is a bit about what they did on their day in Roatan.
We had a Fantastic time last week on our Port Stop to Roatán, Honduras. I wanted to go to Little French Key and Royal Caribbean didn’t offer an excursion there so I used a company called Peter Andrew Roatan Tours. Peter and our guide, Dennis, were at the port there with a sign with our name on it to welcome us. We took a short walk and Dennis grabbed our car and off we went on a great day! We first went to the top of the mountain to get a cool picture of our family with the cruise ship in the distance. There were local venders there and we were able to buy some Souvenirs as well.
Next, we then went to see the Sloths, monkeys, parrots, etc at Manawakie Park. Amazing! There’s nothing quite as sweet as our little sloth who was 4 years old.
Our next destination was Little French Key and Dennis took us to the boat that took us over to the Little French Key Island. We could buy lunch and drinks. We loved Little French Key! It’s the most gorgeous place. We were walked to so lounge chairs and could enjoy our day at the many different hang out areas.
Our kids had a blast doing the rope swing into the water, paddle boarding and snorkeling. Water activities were all included in our cost of going to Little French Key. We added on swimming with the Pigs too. Unlike in Exuma, Bahamas where the pigs live on an island freely. These pigs are walking around and brought in the water for pictures. Barbie and Blacky were our pigs that day.
We headed back to the mainland and our tour guide took us to a place we could get some local food before we got back on our cruise ship. Overall, we were extremely happy and can’t wait to return to Roatan!
