Traveling WDW with a Baby

So happy to introduce Lisa Wainwright one of Coasters & Castles Travel Specialists. She was great about sharing a few tips and experiences. I know you are going to enjoy this!

On our daughter Charlotte’s first birthday we took her to Disney World for the very first time! I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting into with an infant but I figured a day at Disney couldn’t be too much different than a day at home. We’d still eat, nap, and do all the things just at Disney World.

Best news!!!! We had so much fun and didn’t regret taking her one bit! The amount of rides she could do blew me away. There’s no other place that you are able to get on the amount of attractions we did in Walt Disney World, especially Magic Kingdom. At just the wee age of 1, she was able to ride Pirates of the Caribbean, Journey of the Little Mermaid (our son did this when he was little I don’t think it was there yet when she was 1), the Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan, It’s a Small World, Dumbo, Prince Charming’s Regal Carousel, Mad Tea Party tea cups, Buzz Lightyear, etc! Animal Kingdom was a great park too and she loved the Safari and I remember her falling asleep inside the cool air conditioned theatre of the Nemo show. The memories are forever in my brain (and pictures)!

We had a fun filled vacation! The parades were wonderful and watching her love everything was so worth the trip! Charlotte (who is now 11) did stay awake to watch the Electrical Parade in the evening but by fireworks she was passed out and Mommy and Daddy were ready to go to bed to!! Haha!!! I had no regrets taking her on that trip and took her back multiple times the next few years. I’ve lost track at her age of 11 how many time she’s been to Disney World but it’s pretty close to 20 times.

When our son, Tommy, was six months old he took his first trip! They’ve loved every second of our trips and I don’t regret one trip we ever took!!! At those ages they change so much and I loved their reactions of riding new rides, meeting new characters, eating at new Restaurants (especially Character meals), etc. I’d highly advise anyone take their baby to Disney World. I let my babies nap in a stroller (don’t forget the naptime blanket!) and when they needed to burn off some steam we would hold hands and let the kids walk around and stretch those little legs. My best advice is to make sure to give them rest, have plenty of snacks for the lines, and ENJOY every special memory!!!
