Blogger/Travel Specialist Lisa Wainwright
Hi, it’s Cheryl and today I get my newest blogger to chime in and I am so happy to introduce Lisa Wainwright. Lisa is a great travel specialist and has some great information.
In mid May our family is headed to Universal Studios Orlando. Some may ask why would we go to Orlando in the summer, especially the year masks are required. While I agree we may be half crazy (haha) to go when masks are required … it’s worth it! Early morning park hours allow for an enjoyable cooler morning, Volcano Bay is one of the greatest waterparks ever (in my opinion), Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle plays nightly through August, sweet treats from Toothsome Chocolate Emporium can cool us off, there are amazing water rides at the parks, hotel proximity to the park allows us to go back and swim during the afternoon if we need a break, the newer attractions (Jurassic World’s VelociCoaster and Hagrids), and finally… we are missing the parks so badly.. we can not wait any longer to go!!!!!
Our family of 4 is staying at Hard Rock Hotel with Club Level and I’m looking forward to a short walk to CityWalk, Universal Studios, and Islands of Adventure. The Club will provide daily drinks (staying hydrated!!), continental breakfast, afternoon snacks, evening beer/wine hors d’oeuvres, and bedtime snacks. The Park to Park tickets will give us flexibility of spending one full day and maybe part of another day at Volcano Bay. I am NOT a morning person unless I’m heading to the parks! But I can assure you if Universal opens at 8am, we will be lined up ready to go at 7 or 715am. There is such an advantage to enjoying early admission into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. We will be sipping on a butterbeer before the park opens to regular guests! We also have the quick service mealplan that includes the refillable mugs! So this is a wonderful way to stay cool and hydrated.
Let’s talk about Volcano Bay! Volcano Bay is Universal’s waterpark and I will say when I went to Volcano Bay for the first time I felt like I was on a tropical island! The palms, flowers, Tiki Hut cabanas, and foliage are gorgeous! While we walked around the park, I almost forgot I was in the middle of Orlando and not on an island. In addition to beautiful grounds, you receive a taputapu (you wear on your wrist) when you arrive at the park and this device works by holding your place in the virtual line. So you can play in the wavepool or float in the lazy river while you wait for your next ride. I know we will spend the entire day here and it will be a nice break!
Jurassic World VelociCoaster is due to open June 10th and everyone is so excited for this new thrill ride. It’s going to be the fastest and tallest launch coaster in Florida! I’m hoping for a soft opening of it while we are there J
We have our cool towels packed, cooling masks, and are ready to take on the heat and humidity!! Bring on Universal!!
