Autism & Sensory Needs
As a Certified Autism Travel Professional, I have specialized training to help autistic travelers and their families plan vacations with greater confidence, comfort, and peace of mind.
I understand that travel can present challenges that may not always be obvious to others. Changes in routine, crowds, unfamiliar environments, transportation, sensory stimulation, food preferences, waiting in lines, and unexpected schedule changes can all affect the travel experience. My role is to help identify those potential challenges before your trip and create a plan that takes your family’s individual needs and preferences into consideration.
I can help research and recommend destinations, resorts, cruises, attractions, transportation options, and experiences that may be a better fit for your traveler. I can also help families understand available accessibility programs and accommodations, identify quieter areas and sensory-friendly options when available, build realistic schedules with appropriate breaks and downtime, and prepare for transitions throughout the vacation.
When planning theme park vacations, I can provide additional guidance on accessibility services, attraction considerations, park layouts, transportation, dining, crowd patterns, rest areas, and strategies that can help make each day more manageable. For cruises, resorts, and other destinations, I can help research available accommodations and communicate important questions or requests to travel suppliers whenever possible.
Most importantly, I recognize that autism is not a one-size-fits-all experience. What works well for one traveler may not work for another. I take the time to learn about your traveler’s preferences, routines, sensory considerations, communication needs, interests, and potential stressors so we can build a vacation plan specifically around your family.
My goal is not simply to help you book a trip. It is to help you feel better prepared for it. With thoughtful planning, personalized recommendations, and support before and during your travels, I want to help remove as much uncertainty as possible so your family can focus on enjoying the experience and creating great memories together.
